I tryed both my hones and checked under my200x...
I tryed both my hones and checked under my200x microscope and there was no sign of deep scratches and no differance between the two and my coti with water was very similar if not same so they both...

I should imagine he means full honing i no some...
I should imagine he means full honing i no some people do this once aweek but for every shave it seems alot but if it works then its every one to the hone

Bud i have noticed some of the 3 line american...
Bud i have noticed some of the 3 line american hones come in red box mine is in blue box does that make any differance?

I've tryed both of them and they both seemed...
I've tryed both of them and they both seemed about the same one side of my 3line american hone is slight coarser as it says on the instruction but the surface seems so smooth

I've got two barber hones my other one is brand...
I've got two barber hones my other one is brand new 3 line anerican hone its the same brownish colour as my pike and they both have speckles like you describe and are very smooth feel the older pike...

i just used water when mine came it felt greasy...
i just used water when mine came it felt greasy so i'm sure it had been used with lather
i lapped mine on p600 wet and dry just to refresh it surface as it was already flat i dout it will ever need... -

If your polishing you would'nt want a fast...
If your polishing you would'nt want a fast cutting barber hone in case you was to over hone i'm just guessing /how many laps do you do for final polish on barbers hone about 5 to 10?

Could or does any one use barber hones as finishing hones(polishing) i would of thought you could but on the other hand they do cut quik so they may not ?

it was just what some one told me i also realize...
