I loved my tweezerman until I got a good silvertip!

I think you will find that the Shavemac absolutely blows away the tweezerman. Lathering time should be much less once you are used to it...

I'm actually allergic to something that most badger brushes are treated with so I do it automatically with all new brushes..............but the cleaning and conditioning seem to be an accepted...

Very nice brush!

Only thing I can think of is if you did not shampoo and condition it before using it it might be reluctant at first to take on soap / cream.
