Yeah, those specks aren't much like WoA spots.

It is hard to see from the photo (the stone is on a thin dark thing with water running over the hone and spilling down the sides, right? Ignoring...

There is sometimes a very thin line connecting the spots, sometimes not. They tend to be larger than 'specks'...
