Could be 'Harrison', but there does not seem to be enough letters - the 'A' looks a bit mis-stamped, though, so it might incorporate or obliterate an 'R'.

Any chance of a few more pics of the tang stamp - it looks a bit like an 'M' rather than an 'H' for the surname.

Chances are the original scales would be made from horn.
