The lights in my USB scope didn't work on my old computer so pics varied a lot but a dark sillhouette is also a great way to see edge discrepancies. Remeber, it's not all about the bevel polish. :)

This is true to a point but you can also run the risk of honing past a good edge. As I said the edge should be established at 8k therefore excessive honing can be detrimental.
