I taught myself to wind fishing reels left handed...
I taught myself to wind fishing reels left handed as I'm right handed but that was a tad less risky than using a kamisori ;)

Ditto on what Glen said. I always used both...
Ditto on what Glen said. I always used both sides as required but mostly used the hump side (technical term ) :) & I always stropped both sides. Just seems wrong not to.

It's possible you have a burr on the offending...
It's possible you have a burr on the offending side or it's a fault in your stropping. Without looking at the edge under magnification it's all guessing.
