Grant, I wonder why you're struggling to get a mirror finish on the toe end. I presume you don't use any powertools like a buffer or even Dremel.

I did throw both razors on the wheels with some green compound. It cleaned the Friodur to a nice uniform looking blade. Still the original satin look, only better.

Nothing much to add about the Friodur 8/8 to its excellent performance but it sure beats the 7/8 Friodur. For me the Friodur 8/8 is my favorite of the bunch. It's a longer blade compared to the 7/8...
