I do it the same way as fccexpert. Nothing to do with water damaging the edge, rather i find it clears the lather & stubble off effectively. I don't think domestic water pressure would harm the edge....

I rinse under hot water whenever the blade needs a clean. I have taps that arc right over the basin, so there's no risk of chipping the blade on either basin or tap.
