Thanked: 30Cleaning the edge between passes?
I'm wondering how the members here clean their razors between passes?
Do you rinse under water? ( I wonder if the pressure of water coming down on the blade can dull the edge?)
Or do you wipe off the lather and hair on a towel?
Is there another way that is better than either of those two ways of which I am not aware?

i used to wipe on a towel i have folded on the sink, then i started to rinse in hot water which took some getting used to because the blade would be hot and when i would put it to my face i thought i cut myself because of the blade being hot.

I rinse under hot water whenever the blade needs a clean. I have taps that arc right over the basin, so there's no risk of chipping the blade on either basin or tap.

Do you hold the blade spine up, and let the water hit the spine first, letting it run down the sides of the blade? I ask because I wonder if holding the edge at a 90 degree angle to the water, while getting the lather and hair off quicker, might hurt the edge of the blade? (water pressure) I've been holding it spine up towards the water for this reason, but wondered if maybe using a towel or tissue might be better and actually have a mild stropping effect on the blade?

Another under the hot tap water rinser here. When I am done with the shave I rinse, wipe with a kleenex tissue and then strop on leather and wipe with a silicone gun cloth before I put the razor away. So far so good.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
