I wish you all a peasant and prosperous week!
Hot shower prep
Razor: 1850’s Gilchrist (Jersey City, USA)
Soap: Vintage Colgate
Mug: Vintage English
Brush: re-knotted STA-FAST
Splash: Bay Rum
The day? Bright >31ºC / 90ºF. The Shave? Smoooth!
A while back I bought the paddle strop shown. Got it home and noticed the drawer. The Gilchrist was wrapped in the drawer and a very light cleaning and honing brought it to the shave den! It appears to have been rescaled sometime in the early 20th century.
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!

Saving up stubble for my new Korean Kamisori. It left Tampa this morning so I'm about half certain, it will be waiting for me tomorrow after work. I'd like to be rocking a full on homeless man beard for its maiden voyage. I may even try a delayed gratification experiment and not shave until Tuesday evening. By then I should have the full on Sonny Crockett/ George Clooney/ Barney Rubble look.Last edited by 1OldGI; 07-14-2013 at 09:19 PM.
