The Geo. Wostenholm - Conqueror arrived in the mail yesterday and apart from some minor pitting next to the etching, that I decided to leave as I did not want to damage The etch, the rest only needed a short polishing to shine up like it was made last week. The box has a date of nn/8/38. If this razor was used at all it was very lightly as there seemed to be little evidence of use or honing, the scales have no nicks or scratches. I gave it a progress through my hones and finished on a coticule and the ZG. It did not need any bevel correcting and took an edge better than any razor I own. I paid the princely sum of £25 (ebay) and would be reluctant to part with this one for 10 times that. I may be tempted to have the scales replaced at some point but will not rush into it.
