Love the way this big blade glides over the whiskers.
That's one great looking blade, I'm on the look out for a big Wade & Butcher blade for a project I have in mind, would love to come across one like that.

    Yesterday Evening's Shave

I would have liked this to be an all-Belgian shave, unfortunately I don't think there were ever shaving brushes made in Belgium so I made do with a two-band Thäter.

An 8/8" more-or-less hollow ground Pierard-Lefebvre. One of the very few razor brands of which I'm certain that is was actually made in Belgium, in the cutlery town of Gembloux. I happen to have three of these in my collection, and they're all splendid razors.

Shaving cream and aftershave balm by baume.be. The shaving cream is good and is part of my shaving cream/soap rotation, the aftershave balm is my all-time favourite. I use it almost exclusively, the only other product I use is the Esbjerg Verbena milk.

The coticule was cut by yours truly from raw rock (my advice for those of you who would like to do this themselves: just don't, it's too hard unless you have the right tools). It then broke, but I managed to patch it up.

    Cheers folks !

    Thursday

    Razor | Mühle R 89 | Soap | Proraso | After Shave | TOBS Mr Sidney’s | EDT | Joop! Jump

Took the easy option with the DE this morning. One day I’ll have to purchase a nice vintage DE. The Proraso was nice and refreshing, but it’s not really a soap for a cold morning! The Taylor of Old Bond Street Mr Sidney’s aftershave is really, really nice. I’d highly recommend it if you like strong, over powering WTF aftershaves. It’s a strong aftershave that is very citrusy and it leaves the skin feeling very nice and ‘smooth’.

On the way to work I listened to Dr Martin Luther King’s ‘I had a dream’ speech and then played old time Gospel music. I considered how we could have such emotive speeches that could leave one with tears of emotion in one’s eyes and yet still continue to hurt and hate. Collectively, in general, I think it’s fair to say we’re all just a bunch of bastards really, aren’t we?

    Prep - None
    Soap - Vitos Red
    Brush - Muhle XL synthetic
Strop - Neil Miller 3 inch Cordovan leather/English linen
Razor - Premier Cutlery Co Ltd Germany "Premier King"
    Post - Alum block
AS - Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Cold water face lathered shave. Man, I don't like the smell of Vitos Red or Cella for that matter. Too bad, they are both decent soaps.

This is one of the smallest blades I own, has a lot of hone wear, but I love the scales and it holds a great edge. Someone must have really loved this a long time ago too.
And below is a picture from the bike path when my wife and I went for a ride Tuesday. It runs along a river and has some really pretty scenery.

    Thanks,
That blade was lying in Robert Williams' tool box without scales. After many trips to his shop and some begging, I convinced him to put scales on it and then you know the end.
