This Toyo, along with all the other Japanese straights I have used, is excellent. I love the Japanese Westerns for their ease of honing(I'm very much a novice) and the shave they give. You will not be disappointed with this razor. Have you bought from the US before? The only problem there is that UK Customs are extremely hot in parcels coming from the US, and take every opportunity to charge VAT, and that's before the The Royal Mail add their £8 fee too. I bought mine from Martin at Rasurpur, in Germany. He also puts a superb edge on everything he sells. Selling price may offset the charges though.

I've got a lot of razors ... seriously though, it's not a Coti, even though a natural wheel stone (with a whashing machine engine). I rarely use it on straights (doing some mods now and then), but more for knifes, with water you can get a decent edge pretty fast, all the way on a knife (for that uber tomato slicing action, I need to finish by hand, on another stone though).

Soap – MWF
AST – OSMA Alum

Here is a Japanese Western with outstanding edge holding capabilities. This one was re-scaled by Max when he worked in stinky old horn. Final finished on the Nakayama Mizu Asagi. This is a very slow and very fine natural stone that hardens the steel which improves edge longevity. A jewel of a razor. Have a nice week all.
