    Default Instruction day shave

    Wednesday evening
    Instruction day
    My set:
Wade & Butcher 8/8 FBU spike point razor - TOBS Sandalwood sc - Custom silvertip badger - cold water splash - Thayer's Witch Hazel Rose - T&H 1805 balm - LaLique EdT

    My Collegue's set:
Bartmann 15/16 razor - later replaced by Feather artist club DX razor - TOBS Eton college sc - generic badger brush - cold water splash - Thayer's Witch Hazel Rose - T&H 1805 balm - Pinaud Clubman as

I had a colleague from work over today to give an instruction in the straight razor shave. He was a fast learner and I was impressed. He started out with the Bartmann, but I saw him struggling with the size and the spike. I opted for him to try the Feather and he agreed. Things went really smooth from then on. He was inventive with his moves and he mowed down his four day stubble with relative ease for a novice. He even did a second pass ATG and all I can say is that he's going to like this. I asked him if he wanted to try this again and he reacted positive. I loaned him the Feather including a full pack of blades for as long as he wants to try and he indicated already that he will take this further.
Always nice to bring a new recruit to the gang.
My shave was excellent too, though longer than normally, because of the instruction and with frequent re-latherings because of the time it all took.
Made me remember my "early days" lol.

Default Wednesday, 04 September 2013 -- לכבוד ראש השנה

People with fleshy faces should not use be very careful with spike-point straight razors!

    Blade: Morris Mfg. Red-Imp #133 (Solingen) 6/8
Brush: "John Bull", Rooney Style 1 Size 1 in Super Badger 22mm
Suds: Cyril R. Salter Wild Rose
Scent: Le Labo Rose 31 EDP

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

    Prep - None
    Soap - Tabac puck
    Brush - Muhle XL synthetic
Strop - Neil Miller 3 inch Cordovan leather/English linen
    Razor - Ern "Pearl"
    Post - Alum block
AS - Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Cold water face lathered shave. The Ern came in the mail yesterday so I reset the bevel and can say it is one nice shaving razor. I can see it becoming a favourite.
