Today I had the privilege of testshaving a prototype straight from a soon to be manufacturer. Blade is a 7/8 in VG-10 steel, scales are Ebony, pins are brass. Must say it was a very pleasant experience. Some minor issues. Pinning could be a bit firmer because scales were a little to loose in movement. Some rough spots from the productionline, but overall impressive for an almost ready production prototype.

Prep: Hot Shower, Hot wet towel
Lather: Vintage Shaving Company Trad Shave Cream
    Brush: Muhle Fibre Silvertip M,
Razor: Prototype straight. 7/8 in VG-10 steel, Full Hollow ground, wooden Ebony scales.
Shave: WTG, XTG, ATG using clear water
A/S: Hot water rinse, Alum, Taylor of Old Bond Street Jermyn
Results: Excellent shave, heavy razor, excellent controllability. Very comfortable shave.

I overslept and did not have the time to enjoy a straight shave (and there is no way I am going to rush one of those, I enjoy them way too much), so DE it was.

    Razor - Burrell Topflight
    Soap - Arko
    Brush - Turkish horsehair
    Strop - Koken
    A/S - Osma

No image tonight. I am so cachu at photos, but a superb two pass shave after three days of constant grind and travel. The Burrell always delivers.

    Prep - None
Soap - Wilkinsons in a blue tub
Brush - Muhle XL synthetic silver tip
Strop - Neil Miller 3 inch Cordovan leather/English linen
    Razor - Premier "Lifetime"

Cold water face lathered shave. One of those remarkable shaves which left me wondering how the heck did that happen. Wish they were all like that.
