I am starting to realize that my stropping technique is fatally flawed. I have two great blades that I have screwed up with poor technique, and I am going to have to go back to the hone to get them back into the rotation. Used pasted strop to correct the Revisor, and it is my best razor, good stuff.
Closest shave yet, last pass against the grain - took some time, lather was top notch, heated was even better. Overall good experience.

I have to say Lynn, you weren't kidding. These things are a beauty to use. It shaved like butter I have to say. No pressure and nice easy strokes. I think I really like the 6/8 size a lot. I am still getting used to it. That and the spike, but I love this razor. I may take it back to the Chromium for a little bit more fine tuning, but it shaves beautifully.
Very proud of this little razor.

Still can't like the Musgo Real cream as much as I want, and definitely does not smell as freshly cut grass, as some people say. Decent lather, though.
Strop was great, really enjoyed using it.
The idea was to compare a few razors. All passed HHT and I had used most of them (except the W&B) for a shave or two already with 9 - 10+ /10 results.
First one out of the gates was the TI. Hm, still not where I want it in sharpness & smoothness. Quickly moved to the W&B. Boy, was it hard to shave with the 8/8 in 1 5/8 length. I'm leaving this one aside. Maybe a 5/8 would work fine for me in this length but the 8/8 did not feel comfortable. It may be a "getting used to it" thing, but I am not willing to spend the time to get used to this. On to the Genco - meh, felt OK but just that and I have come to expect more. Finally - the Sta's second appearance. Felt much better than the others (but certainly worse than its debut) - no wonder, as I had virtually no prep this time and the growth was shorter.
It may be strange, but I find it is much easier and smoother to cut hairs after a week or more without shaving, than hairs on their 3-4 or so day. The longer hairs soften much better with prep and are easier to cut, razor feels smoother
Shave was fairly quick, except that I had to stop and wipe several razors before picking up the next one. No nicks, cuts, or irritation - for which, given the lack of prep and sub-par experience with some blades, I am glad.
Cheers
Ivo

I have to say this razor surprised me a lot. It sharpened well and it shaved super. Very very smooth. I will have to give it some more attention in the restoration department. It definitely has earned itself a good cleaning.
I also lathered right in the scuttle today. I loaded my brush and went to town. Worked quite well. All in all a very good shave.

Surprisingly good shave! Usually I never shave 2 days in a row but just got the Speick and wanted to try it. Speick itself was alright, nothing special. The big surprise was the smooth feel of the Dorko (before I rated it 9+, now it's a 10/10 shaver after 40 laps Yellow and 30 oxide + some linen! It's getting closer to what I would expect from feedback by RichZ.
Good shave - no nicks, cuts, irritation. Why not a great shave? - please, read on
This Dorko is special to me because my Grandfather used one like it, according to my father.
Now I'm gonna cut the tip of the Dorko.
Because I dinged it on the faucet at the end of the shave. First time ever

Hmmm...razor is pulling a little, cuts but a little uncomfortable. 30 rounds on strop not cutting it, tried the linen first today too - shave not super close, but agreeable. Got to get the hang of getting a scary sharp blade, not there yet. Also had a hard time getting a decent lather - tried hard, didn't quite do it - soap is nice, and I do not have the bproblem with the baor brush all the time thiss morning was a wash.

I have to say it was a good shave. I love this razor. Probably the closest I have had yet as far as the neck area goes. I have a bit of burn though, as I was trying a new hold technique to come XTG on my neck. It works well, but I need to lighten up on my pressure. Still perfecting it.
