Sitting and shaving with a broken leg. My newest piece of kit is a cane chair in front of the barstool shaving table, mirror stand and integrated towel/washcloth rack. Five more weeks. It works. Not bad.
Can't beat good friends. A pal from Michigan sent me his not-quite-yet fully restored W&B Barbers w/notch for a test drive. I wanted to know - and now I know. No picture conveys how big and heavy these razors are. Pardon the oil spots.
Soap, water and rinse face wash
Some Proraso prep
Arko, face lathered
The W&B For Barbers, 15-laps on CrOx polyester webbing and 40-more on leather
Three passes, smooth and fairly quiet
Warm washcloth wipe and cold waster rinse
Lint free pat dry
Witch hazel with aloe splash
Very, very nice!

Thanked: 603Monday, 17 March 2014 -- לכבוד שושן פורים
Blade: Geneva Cutlery Co. Antlers (Geneva, NY) 5/8
Brush: Rooney Style 1 Size 1 in Finest Badger 22mm
Suds: QED Wild Rose
Scent: Molyneux Gauloise
I received this tub of QED Wild Rose shaving soap on Wednesday, 9 March 2007, purchased in a custom, never-to-be-repeated, group buy on B&B. More than 2/3 of the soap remains, and if the aroma has lessened any, it's due solely to diminished olfactory abilities (and my sense of smell is as acute as ever). What a wonderful shaving soap! The lather is copious, aromatic, and lubricating; thirty swirls of my shaving brush leave me with leftover lather at the end of a three-pass shave. Jealous? You have every right to be.
The Gauloise? It was discontinued several years ago...Last edited by JBHoren; 03-18-2014 at 03:14 AM. Reason: Add a bit 'o narrative
