I was apprehensive on the first shave with this Everite with a Solingen hollow blade as well as a new horsehair brush.
The design of this little blade allows for the handle to be screwed into it's side in order to hone/strop it along with some regular straights. I figured the guard would be removed during the shave, but it worked great to maintain the angle and proved no hindrance. Clogging on a 3 day beard was not an issue, swishing it in the sink. The brush is super nice.(Thanks, Darl!) Whipped up some dried lather in the scuttle easily and effectively. A nice, pleasant, close, and smooth shave!
I will use the little hone/strop which came with the razor to maintain the edge in the future.

For the remainder of this week I'll use replaceable blade straight razors. Next week I'll use DE and SE safetry razors. These razors all get relatively little play time compared to my conventional straights so I thought I'd give them a couple weeks.

    Warm Water Splash
Kent Shave Soap (a.k.a. Da' Fat)
Simpsons Colonel X2L in 2 Band Super Badger .. The Ehsan
    W.H. Morley & Sons Clover Brand 5/8
    Neil Miller .. 40/60
    Witch Hazel
    Pashana Original AfterShave Splash

The Clover Brand Straight with the shotgun scales was touched up my prized Thuringian bout. This is the stone I reach for lately in place of an Escher. Another interesting item in today's photo is the original coffin box for this razor, showing the price of $3.50.

Great shave from a razor costing well less than a fiver!

Looking forward to the week, gents!!
