SOTD 5 August 2014
Prep- Wash face with Irish Spring
Hot towels
Brush-VDH Boar
Soap- Stirling Sandalwood
Razor- Boker American Line SS St. Louis
Strop- home made from Fender leather guitar strap and a black nylon guitar strap.
Post- Cold towel
AS- AV Musk
I have started doing a few laps on nylon before going to leather. The resulting edge is much keener than just leather. Will be continuing this going forward.
This shave marks the return of hot towel pre and cold towel post. Don't know why I ever stopped. Fantastic shave!Mike

Took out a razor that I had bought about a yr ago. Believe that I had been disappointed because of the spine wear that i found when I 1st bought it off of eBay.
Wiped off the oil, used my pasted canvas strop ~ 50-60 time and shaved with it. Not a bad shave. Smooth, razor felt good in my hand. (Still has the wear) guess I'll give it a try in the rotation.

Johnus,a little spine wear never hurt nobody. Most of the time it just means somebody loved it so much they put that wear on it honestly. Nothing more sad to me than a straight that isn't used. Give that old warrior the position it deserves. Shave on!
