Mastro Livi RWL34, 15/16 Full Hollow, Spanish Point

I love this razor! Today shave has been superb thanks to a magnificent couple: this Mastro Livi straight razor and Martin De Candre soap, one of my very favorite shaving soaps! I am very fond of this razor, not only because it was the very first Mastro Livi straight razor of which I personally witnessed the making, but also because it is an absolutely superb shaver! I bought this razor more than one year ago and, so far, I have never honed it and it still shaves like the very first day. Not even a touch up with chromium oxide. Moreover, it has olive wood scales, a type of wood I like a lot because of its beautiful pattern and for being a typical wood of Umbria which trees give us an extraordinary oil, also good to be used as a pre or post shave oil.

    • Pre-Shave: Myrsol Emulsión
    • Soap: Martin De Candre Fougère
    • Brush: Muhle Nr. 281 H 23, Fine Badger, Pine - 21 mm - Size M
    • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm Stropping
    • Razor: Mastro Livi RWL34, 15/16 Full Hollow, Spanish Point
    • Post-Shave: Argan Oil
    • After Shave: Floïd The Genuine After Shave

    Razor – Mappin “Trustworhty”wedge
    Brush – Simpson chubby#2
    Soap – GFT limes
AS – ALUM, & TOBs limes & GFT skin food

It was decided to go with a British combo today. I prefer this size and style of wedge. This razor has what’s called a double smile. Great shavers once you get the bevel set proper. Stay clean shavin!

Italian software has been comforting to me recently...Simple...Italian Barbershop types like yesterday's OMEGA and today C.O. Bigelow ( Proraso shaving cream)...a splash of Proraso Dopobarba aftershave from the 400ml Barber bottle...mix in some British flavour with the Somerset era Duke 3 Simpson in Best Badger as well as a couple spritzes of Penhaligons Endymion. The Swedish Steel from Heljestrand and the Japanese Suede and Shell of Kanayama, the #3 Hanging Strop brought it all together. A dab of Tabac Hair Cream in towel dried hair and I am set for a beautiful Florida Sunday.

May the coming of fall bring a gentle happiness to you all!

Torrey, German scuttle, NOS 60's Colgate, no name boar brush, NOS Royall Lyme.

The Day? 60's and partly cloudy. The Shave? A close and clean shave in two and a touch. The vintage stuff can be great and today all of it was superb!

I've been struggling with my technique this week. I shaved off my goatee and have apparently forgotten how to shave my chin. Nothing serious just a few weepers but I find poor technique aggravating. Anybody can make a mistake but I've been making them to consistently. Have a good one.
