Last weekend when I used this razor it was a pretty decent shave but the edge seemed just a bit muddy. I took it to the stone before this morning's shave--the mud is gone and it's about as sharp as an edge can be. I was near BBS after one pass but did two just because I was having fun.

Imperial Extra Hollow Ground, VDH Boar, American Indian Scuttle, Tabac, Lucky Tiger Bay Rum, Old Spice Fiji Body Spray

Took three goes at the stones before I got this vintage blade to shave ready.
1-4-8k-coti-charnley-.25 diamond-20 linen-100 leather was the winning combination.
Very hard steel, and a very nice three pass BBS shave that my wife approves of!
A heavier toe than any other razor I own but it just fell through the whiskers. Up ATG on the neck was a little wobbly but nothing an improved grip won't fix.
Hope you all have a great Saturday night gents.
    Cheers.

    Lookin' good brother!

So, do tell, how much fun did you have with that one on the stones....was it like honing a chunk of hard glass?

It was an unusually hard irony steel for sure.
I started with one layer of tape to try and give a wider bevel, then switched to two layers to focus my efforts as I was just not removing much metal. Needed some real downforce before I started to darken my slurry at all. Then, it started to come together, narrow at the heel as expected, but nice and smooth towards the toe.
Thanks once again Andrew, this is a really fine razor.
