Great to hear! I would imagine it might be a bit challenging for face-lathering, though! Good luck.

Legrand à Paris, frameback with six blades, inside a "seven" day / leather set in mahogany. (1820)
Soap La Savonnerie Du Bon Berger (lavander rosemary)
    Blaireau Vie-Long (horse / boar)
    Bowl Vicfactory (copper turquoise)
    After-shave Von Tiki (old roses).

Shave with the first of the blades, very good, smooth shave.

I'd like to see more pictures, of what seems to be a beautiful razor !

Did you expose it somewhere ?

(It's funny because "carreau" stands for "diamonds" in card games, and you can see a heart on the tang)

I had the razor some time ago shown in these picture:

The razor has horn scales and is made with great care. Very light and gracile.
I know nothing about this razor. I assumed that Carreau a Nantes is a special term from Nantes. A special place, perhaps?
The razor is certainly sharpen very well and is a very smooth shaver.

I think it must be a family name, probably the cutler's.

    M. Carreau, from Nantes.

The inlay is in MOP ? It bugs me from the very beginning I saw the picture. Got a "faux frameback" or "rasoir baguette" like this one, I put ivory scales on it and add a little scrimshaw.

    One of my favorite razors.

So simply the name of the knifemaker? Could it not have a little bit more poetry?
The inlay is made of real MOP.
