Excellent first shave with a new Craig Barr 9/8 1095 Steel hollow ground. Shave was smooth and razor sang. It felt like shaving with a meat cleaver!
WD Silvertip and Rusting Shaving Soap Mahogany.

OK so the synthetics are good and more enjoyable to use than my horse/badger vie long brush but the Simpson is still excellent. It is neither better nor worse than the synthetics, it is different, but in a good way. ​

Cleaned this one up and honed today. All original with the coffin
