In memory of Neil Miller
Gents, just in case anyone missed reading the announcement but this coming Sunday (July 12th), which is also the start of the new SOTD, we'll dedicate Sunday's SOTD to the passing away of a dear member, friend and straight razor aficionado Neil Miller.
Thank you.Last edited by Maximilian; 07-09-2015 at 09:37 PM. Reason: July 12th

Thanked: 5SOTD 7-9-15
PRESHAVE: Face wash with soap and warm/hot water
RAZOR: Matador Mastiff with MR1 handle
BLADE: Platinum Lux (4)
SOAP: Proraso White tub
STRAIGHT: Red Imp 132
BOWL: VDH
BRUSH: Tweezerman Badger
POST: Rinse with warm/hot water to get soap off and then some cold water rinses/splashes and pat try.
Comments: Okay so another fairly quick shave today before heading out the door with the misses so I grabbed the Matador Mastiff and the Red Imp 132 to tryout, This is the first time I used the Red Imp since I got it back a short time ago from getting honed. I have to say it feels heavy and very sharp! I used it for two passes and then did my cleanup with the Mastiff head, which I like as it is a very good and fairly aggressive head. I did get two weepers and some slight irritation today (from the Red Imp) but on a good note I ended up with a DFS shave. I had no issues with the Proraso as it is good soap. The soap lathers pretty easily and gives me very good protection throughout the shave. Shave was real good today!
Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Of course, YMMV!
Thx.
