Ok, so first time with a slant bar. It is awesome! I avoided them given their aggressive looks, but looks can be deceiving. I got ok shaves with a regular DE, but never really felt they were that great. For me, the slant works really well.

Yes, I'd agree the Merkur slant has an undeserved rep for being aggressive. In reality they are a very nice smooth shaving razor.

I agree with Bob. The Slant gives me a close comfortable shave and I did not in any way find it to be aggressive.

A Gillette Adjustable set at 4 would be much more aggressive than the Slant. JMO

Comments: Today was almost exactly the same as yesterday, except for the soap used! I did two passes (WTG, XTG), then a cleanup type pass (XTG/ATG), which worked fine! No irritation or nicks!!! I do feel a couple of areas that could have been closer but I will still call it a DFS shave! No issues with the infamous Arko soap as it works well for me. A very good shave today!

Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Of course, YMMV!

    Thx.
