This soap is one of those very particular ones. You know, too much water, no wait not enough water, the soap is too wet, the brush is not wet enough. But it smells great and as much trouble as you go to to make all the variables right, when it's on, it's on. I got it right today and the resulting shave is amazing

The SRP August 2015 Giveaway Shave!

Yesterday I received a lovely package from the US. You probably remember I was the lucky one who won the "Straight Razor Place August 2015 Giveaway" and this package contained all of the prizes kindly shipped to me by str8razor @ SRP. He was also very kind in honing the razor so it was ready to use and shave ready. The package also contained a shaving cream and a shaving soap which I used them both in my usual three passes. Not to mention the luxurious Illinois Razor Strop Co. Chicago 127 Razor Strop, robust and well made. As opposed to what str8razor suggested me - he wrote me a kind note in which he was informing the Bengall razor was already honed and stropped, so there was no need to strop it - I however used my new hanging strop because I wanted to enjoy all of the prizes. Lovely soaps and cream, lovely Bengall razor and lovely strop. I truly enjoyed this shave and let me thank, once again, all the kind SRP fellows who donated the first prize for SRP August 2015 giveaway: sashimi for Bengall razor and str8razor for making it shave ready and for having shipped everything to me; miha for Seifenglatt shaving cream; OCDshaver for Mama's Bear soap; the anonymous donor for the strop. Thank you all, I enjoyed everything and appreciated each single prize.
