I have an unexplained affection for the Henckels. Im up to three in the rotation and they all give some first class shaves.

Here's to your future Henckels shaves sir. May they be close, and clean.

    Default The new bowl..

Received my new SRD shaving bowl this evening. The G20 scuttle is amazing but I needed a more lightweight kit for my evening shaves. This bowl did the trick. It is pretty deep and in my opinion would work best with a taller brush. My little boar brush was dinging the sides a little.. but the lather stayed in the bowl like its supposed to and i have zero complaints.

I tried palm stropping this razor a few times mid shave. Not sure if it made a difference but anything i see a 50 year old Italian barber do in a Maestro Livi video im gonna try out.

Pre shave with Udderly Smooth and a hot towel
Omega Boar Brush & D.R. Harris Marlborough shave cream
    Frederick Reynolds Sheffield Straight
Cold towel - Alum Bar - Osage Rub - Proraso Menthol & Eucalyptus AS

2 pass on the neck, 2 pass on the head.. left the beard again.

    ---Monday Evening---
Pre-shave--A test with William's Lectric shave.
    Razor--Sears Craftsman.
    Hone--Fresh off a Thuringian.
    Strop--SRD Premium 1 and Illinois 454.
Soap--Concoction of Watkins, Kirk's, Williams Mug, and Creamo.
Mug--Gimme coffee cup from the cute bank teller.
    Brush--Shedding badger.
    Aftershave--Alum block and witch hazel.
Result--A good shave but rather smelly. The Lectric Shave was in some crap I inherited from an electric shaving relative and thought I would test it out for wet shaving. I read on the bottle that it makes whiskers stand up and I thought, "Hmmmm Viagra for your beard, this is just what my barb wire whiskers need." Well, it didn't work and it makes Vegatal smell like a bed of roses. Now my shave towels stink, my brush stinks, my face and hands stink, the cute bank teller I'm trying to impress will most likely throw rocks at me. My advice is don't try it.
