I love my costly and highly thought-of razors as much as the next guy, but many here are gifts or have other sentimental value attached to them, for one reason or another. This Black Diamond was the first straight razor I bought off e-bay. It's going back a way, but I think I paid $14 for it. When it arrived, I was surprised to find it in virtually as new condition, in it's original coffin... the blueing on the tang and the back of the spine and all. This iteration is off my Nakayame Kiita, but I've always gotten a great shave no matter which stone it had seen last. There are better looking blades, but this one's home is secure!
The background speaks for itself... I've been a Beatles fan since my cousin in Wales used to send me their records .. Ohh, about 1963 or so.. Not much has changed!
Here's to another fine week, gents!

Thanked: 250---Shumate Sunday---
Razor--Shumate.
Strop--25 on lead treated linen, 50 on SRD Premium 1.
Soap--Concoction of Watkins and Kirk's Castile.
Mug--Gimme coffee cup.
Brush--Badger.
Aftershave--Alum block, 5 drops EVOO, and a couple splashes of Aqua Velva Ice Blue.
Result--A Shumate close shave, with no nick or cuts, and the Aqua Velva was refreshing on my sun burned face.
