This morning was my first SR shave with my new Dovo Best Quality SR! I started by stropping the blade and made sure everything was set up. I did a very good prep with Proraso preshave cream followed by a hot facecloth to wipe off the preshave cream. Then I lathered up with Cella and kept the lather on the wet side. Handling the blade is very similar to a shavette, so it was not completely foreign to me. Though I note the SR is more forgiving than the shavette. There were a couple of moments where I realized that if I was using a shavette, I would have nicked myself. I used the sponge method to wipe lather off the blade followed by a final rinse. By all accounts it was a grand success. One very tiny nick on my neck...otherwise it was an incredibly smooth shave. No irritation or razor burn. I'm hooked! I really enjoy the auditory feedback of the blade as it cuts through stubble.
