It does take a bit but is very satisfying. I'll keep practicing until it takes less time.

    Default Soft as a Feather

Splurged on a Pearl Feather Artist Club DX so I could enjoy straight shaves while traveling with only a carry-on.

I successfully brought my DX along with me to a conference I attended from July 27–31 (thanks in no small part to the help I got from some of the gentleman of SRP in this thread). I disassembled the blade part of the Feather and laid all the components plainly visible in the security tray. I got through security without a hitch, and both times they actually thanked me for taking it out and disassembling it for them. It probably helped that I was dressed in chinos and a blazer.

As for the Feather, I couldn't be more satisfied. The craftsmanship and materials are top class: it's simply beautiful and a pleasure to use. You can even disinfect it in boiling water if you want to! Most importantly, paired with the Super Pro blades, I was able to enjoy the closest thing to a traditional straight shave during the conference without having to check in any luggage.

Got plenty of compliments on my presentation, too. Must've been the glorious shave I had in the morning.

Razor: Pearl Feather Artist Club DX w/ Feather Super Pro blades
Lather: Cremo Cream + VdH Luxury
    Strop: Illinois 827 "Russian Imperial"
Post-Shave: alum block + Neutrogena Naturals Moisturizer
Scent: L'ea Par Kenzo pour homme
