Simple shave today, nothing fancy, only the "bear" 's necessities, - DR Harris Arlignton soap, EJ Muhle synthetic hybrid brush, Chaugne a Orleans razor

For some unknown reason, the razor doesn't have a tail. I know the very old French razors didn't have one but this one is not that old; anyhow, good steel but it feels odd to not have a rest for finger.
I had some experimental scales that fitted alright so I'll leave it as is

Every so often I go back to the beginning. In this case, I started with a cheap "shavette" and brush bought at a local beauty supply shop.

Magic razor with half of a Dorco blade
    no-name brush
    macca root cream

    Shave Of The Day

Razor - Mike Martinez 7/8 quarter hollow
    Brush - M&F 24mm Blonde Badger
Soap - St. James Of London - Black Pepper & Lime
    AS - Fine Snakebite

First shave with the new Martinez blade and St. James of London soap and neither disappointed. Excellent edge on this one and the 52100 steel really sings even on a quarter hollow. Soap performance was excellent and the scent was great. Face and head are silky smooth. Awesome shave!
