Never Forget...

A very difficult day for all Americans, and especially New Yorkers. Many people in this area were touched by the tragedies that occurred 15 years ago. A good friend and co-worker lost his brother, a FDNY Firefighter from Squad 18, in the North Tower that day. I remember the rites of laying him to rest like they were yesterday ... very emotional. May we never forget the souls that were lost ..

The mighty Oaks are beginning to drop their crop of acorns, and many of my wife's plants are going to seed. The Fall cannot arrive soon enough for me!
This was an extremely close and comfortable shave .. So impressive that I had to go back to my notes to see which stone this razor was finished on. As suspected, it was the Nakayama Kiita .. A stone I will need to revisit!

A close co-worker of mine was lost that day too. It was his first day back at work after he and his wife had come back from China where they adopted a baby girl. He lived in Boston, and had a job to go to in New York that morning. He was on the American Airlines flight that flew into the tower.

RIP to everyone who was lost that day. We will never forget.
