Thanks for the words of encouragement. To be honest I've been questioning this endeavor. I only did 2 passes. Down and then up. Decent shave but not comfortable. Just wondering if it will ever be as comfortable as my Wolfman, or is this the feeling that a straight razor provides.
Reminds me of an Ever Ready Steamine in that regard. Decent, not so comfortable shaves. I was actually going to post asking this question.

Thanked: 3226Shaving with a straight razor takes a lot more time to get proficient with than any DE/SE. Give yourself about 3 months to get a grip on technique. It is all about angle and lack of pressure when using a SR which has to be shave ready itself. Add to that an excellent lather.
In order to get a comfortable shave with the Ever Ready SE razors the angle to use is similar to a SR. The head is damn near flat on your face. If you use an angle that you normally would with a DE razor you will get an uncomfortable/irritating shave because you are scraping the whiskers off rather than cutting them off.
