Tuesday May 2 - Shave in Exile
If one good thing came out of my flood induced exile it's that I've finally been motivated to post my first SotD!
Shower: Duke Cannon Accomplishment
Suds: Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic
Slather: Brush Craft handle with Tuxedo 24mm knot
Steel: Shumate Barber's
The good news is that a temporary repair has been made to the road leading to my house so I'm finally back home. The bad news is that record flood levels are being reported here in the Jefferson County, MO area and the other end of the road remains covered by the Big River. My prayers go out to everyone dealing with the flood waters!

Greetings,
PAA Bakelite Slant
Gillette Platinum [1]
Omega 651
Myrsol Liquid SS
Malizia Uomo Vetyver
The PAA Slant has 3 charastics that make it a great razor
1. it's an open comb
2. it's a slant
3. it's a Fasan copy
Of course YMMV

Thank you for the compliments, sir! While I agree that the brush is pretty darn pretty (and pictures simply don't do it justice) I find the one I used today a bit sexier. Both of these brushes bring a smile to my face every time I use them and Chris (aka Trimmy72) over at Brush Craft was an absolute pleasure to deal with.
Shower: Duke Cannon Productivity
Suds: Stirling Gin & Tonic
Slather: Brush Craft custom handle with Cashmere 24mm synthetic knot
Strop: Newspaper
Steel: Shumate's Barber
Tipple: Pinckney Bend Gin and Tonic Syrup
I wasn't originally planning on making my way home today so yesterday afternoon I stropped this razor on newspaper as I forgot my normal strop when I packed up. I have to say that while I'm not likely to take to using newspaper on a daily basis it might become the go to approach on some of my future travels. One stropping doesn't tell me a whole lot but next time I take to the road I might give the experiment a few days of effort.
My home is high and dry but I can look down on the Big River valley and feel a lot of sympathy for what the folks near the rivers are going through. At this point in time Jefferson County has been virtually cut off from the rest of the St. Louis area so there are a bunch of families needing help and prayers at the moment.
