    ---Wednesday---
    Razor--John Doe no name.
    Strops--old Russian horsehide.
    Soap--Dove Men Care shower soap.
    Brush--Burma-Shave boar.
Aftershave--Alum block, Dickinson's witch hazel, and a generous dab of Mennen Afta.
Pomade--A good dose of hexane free cold pressed castor oil.
Result--4 pass bbs. Today's shave was a ride on the "Wayback Machine" to my start in shaving 46 years ago. The days of a 4 razor rotation, shower soap or anything that would lather, a coticule, an old beat up strop, and a boar brush. Old John still shaves as good as yesteryear. You gents have a great evening. Look sharp and smell nice for the ladies.

Those four razors, including old John, were all hand me downs from different dead relatives. I didn't buy a brand new razor until shortly after I joined this site and bought the new Boker from SRD. I didn't know what a pro honed edge was either until the Boker and Lynn's hone job. Came to find out that all these years I was honing pretty damn good with the coticule. It amazes me that those razors stood up to a snot nosed 14 year old starting to shave and hone. They are truly special razors to me.
