Thanked: 9Ze French are coming! But a Brit ruled
3 days' stubble
hot shower + towel
Plisson HMW 12 horn
L'Occitane CADE soap
TIPTLE
Vintage Russia Shell Select
Taylor EW 6/8 rp
CWR
Lanvin Aprege ASB
The TIPTLE + Plisson looked so nice together, I decided to go w/ French soap and ASB. However, I needed to test the TEW too so it ruined my planned Total French Extravaganza
TIPTLE: came to me brand spanking new "super sharp" and the vendor asked me to NOT HONE OR STROP! I always have reserves about factory honing, and generally refuse to shave with an unstropped razor, but promised him to test as is. Well, no surprise - it is a great razor: great balance, and HHTs and thumb pad were nice BUT it pulled (even though it went after the TEW so the lather had some extra time to work for it) Not too bad of a performance: 9 or 9+ out of 10. But I expect to get it to 10+ level with some tweaking. Nothing less from it will satisfy me
TEW: this one doesn't look anything special. However, it was at least 10 or 10+ shaver and mopped the floor with the TIPTLE, going first out. Very smooth on skin This is the first razor to get the ultra Japanese natural hone love. It is too early to say, but it seems it's working well
I will probably be selling the TEW and will do my best to get the TIPTLE to shave better than it, of course - I am sure the TIPTLE has greater potential and looks incomparably hotter. But tonight the British won hands down
Cheers
Ivo
