    NICE!
Allegheny Instrument razors are attributed to Carl Monkhouse.
His descendants still run Cutlery Associates there, AFAIK.

The AIC razor is a great example of a "No Frills" razor. The steel and grind are excellent. It is equal to my Genco's and Robeson's.
They show up occasionally on the bay. But I don't think they are as common as the other brands.
Cattaragus and Clauss are makers that I am on the look out for nice examples of.
These "working man" razors are some of my top shavers. Ken

I am traveling as usual and in Chennai, India. I have a lightweight kit with me this time - no straights and no strops. A trusty Merkur Futur…

    Hardware:

    Merkur Futur 3 passes 2 x #4 and 1 x #1
    Feather Blade on shave #2
    Alpha T-400 c/w 24mm silver tip

    Software

    Arko stick
Joe Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt

    Face lathered

A beautiful, close and slick shave. And yep - them’s gel-tips them is…

Hmmmm... gotta keep an eye out for one of those. Didn't know there was a connection, but it makes sense. If you dig far enough you can find a lot of overlap. Thanks for the knowledge!

Nice! Great travel kit you've assembled. Too bad you weren't there a few months earlier, you could have caught a Super Kings match (I'm the one guy in the US that follows cricket).

Thanks for the awesome photos, friend!

Thank you! I usually schlep along a whole range of straights and soaps but it was getting too much AND I always have to check the bags in.

IPL or 20/10 is the only cricket I watch - tests are too long and boring. One-Day internationals is a maybe. The teams are then forced to PLAY hard!!

You forgot JR Torrey and Case on that list of American workhorse's. Then there's the Connecticut razors of times before them. Lots of awesome American made razors.

Today’s choice was an Otto Busch Weltmeister with a custom badger using SdM Mandarin Orange soap and then a good rub of B&M Latha
