Great shave this early afternoon.

I’m on a dark tobacco kick, so I had ordered all the sample tobacco scents from PAA. (Cologne/splash).

I used unscented soaps and balms, then topped them out with the tobacco scents.

Yesterday I used PAA’s “Big Shave East,” and today I used “Cavendish”.

So let’s start with yesterday - “Big Shave East”.

I liked the smell out of the bottle. Probably the most out of all of them. It was also my wifey’s favorite. (She liked it a lot).

But as time went on, it started mixing with my bodies natural scent (which all splashes and colognes do), and it took-on this unique scent profile…which I did not like too much. It took a while for me to put my finger on it. But it was the scent of bug spray. I sweetish medicine-y scent.

I ended-up not liking it much.

Today I went with their (supposedly) predominant tobacco scent - “Cavendish”.

I like the scent. It has a very noticeable sweetish vanilla scent to it.

It is a clean and non-overpowering scent. But sweetness is not what I was looking for. It really does smell like you opened a pouch of pipe tobacco right before you pinch some and place it in the pipe.

Tomorrow I will try their newest rendition, “Astra Planeta”.

Honestly, it is a very fresh smelling scent. But if I may be frank, I am looking for a tobacco-forward scent. Something darker and elegant. And so far all the splashes have been 98% flowery/fruity/earthy/woody.

It seems like they got great scents with the above ingredients. But then suddenly realized, “Oh smack…it’s supposed to be tobacco-y”. So they went back and added 2% tobacco afterwards.

Not what I was looking for.

But don’t get me wrong, they’re nice scents.

Just a heads-up for peeps looking for darker, purer, tobacco scents.

But I’m smelling clean. And the wifey LOVES both of the scents so far.
