First post in SOTD, and first shave with a straight. Those first few strokes with a shaky hand were the hardest part, once I got a feel for how the blade behaved the anxiousness went away and it was quite enjoyable!

SC: Vulfix Sandalwood + 5 Drops of pure glycerin
Blade: 5/8 Giesen Forsthoff - Timor Blue Steel
Brush: $10 boar bristle (E&J BB in the mail)

Hot shower
Cleanser scrub
Build the lather
Lather up
20 laps leather
WTG pass
Relather
10 laps leather
XTG cheeks and mustache
Relather
10 laps leather
ATG Cheeks
Touch up spots on neck, chin and left cheek with mach3
Hot rinse
Alum block pass
Clean up
Cold splash
Biotherm moisturizer

All in all, a good (safe) first shave. 1 tiny nick on the cheek. Need to work on the left hand grip.
