I keep checking for an SOTD with the heirloom razor.

I must commend forum members on their photographic capabilities, I have been doing some digital photography for years but I am not anywhere as good at it as forum members are. I have been experiemting at home after my son goes to bed and I am getting better, but I still need some work on the neck and throat area before I can say that I have those areas mastered.

Here's a SOTD from one of the (for now) DE shavers on the site

Music during shower and shave: Classical assortment (helps to relax)

Razor: Merkur Futur, set on 3, Merkur Platinum blade

    Brush: Merkur Silvertip

    Pre-shave prep:

Turn atomic scuttle to high, and fill with pre-heated filtered water.
Float glass bowl in scuttle, fill half way with more water, and soak brush during shower.

Roll up face towel, place in small bowl. Fill with ice and water.

    Hot shower
    Apricot facial scrub (in shower)
    Rinse
    Poroso Pre-shave (in shower)
Let sit while finishing up shower routine
Rinse Poroso with very hot water just before getting out of the shower

    Uberlather:

    Classic Shaving almond soap
    Truefitt & Hill almond cream
    5 drops pure glycerin

Build lather in glass bowl, and float bowl in atomic scuttle.
Apply lather, and allow to soak for 30 seconds or so.

    WTG pass
    Hot water rinse

Relather, again soaking for 30 seconds.

    XTG Pass
    Hot water rinse

    Relather remaining trouble spots
    Touch up as necessary
    Hot water rinse

    Alum block pass
Clean up bathroom (can't call this a proper Shaving Den)

Apply towel pre-soaked in ice water to face, wiping off alum residue

    Apply Floid Blue AS

    Post Shave treat:

    Glass of Honey Mead
    Homemade blueberry muffin with butter
    Small nap following muffin

One of my most enjoyable shaves to date!
