I just got this ERN the other day and this was my first with it. It behave very nice, very smoothly.

Very nice setup Leon! Have you already tried the Palmera? I think I remember reading you were honing one and giving it a go, I am very interested in the outcome....

    Hi,
The Palmera behave nicely, but not as nice as my Filarmonica Barbas Duras . I think I need to fine tune her some more.

Razor: Thiers-Issard 'Silver Steel' in black horn scales ...made in France

    Default Dovo 55 7/8

Whewww! I was told look clean, we have a social engagement tonight. A short while ago, I bought a Dovo 55 7/8 NOS from an SRP member as I wanted to get my hands on one since all I had were 1/2s and 5/8s. It was unused and I used it twice right out of the box (prehoned) and it gave a presentable BBS shave, but then I decided to give it some time on my pasted strops and tune the edge into a finer edge.

Holy Cow! It was so sharp, it almost gave me a BBS shave in one pass! A good second pass and I was done. It felt just as sharp as my feather straight blade on its first shave and no other fixed straight blade I used to date ever felt like that. I am still realling in the effects this shave.

    The tools:
    Prehave - Castille Soap
    Soap - Col. Conk
    Pure Best Badger Brush
Vintage Dovo No. 55 7/8 still some available from Straight Razor : Double Edge Razor : Shaving Products Supplies : Merkur Safety Razor : Badger Shaving Brush : Men's Grooming Products : VintageBladesllc.com

I think its an old blank made in the 70's that sat around and it was polished up and brought to the market about 24 months ago. Its pretty cool to have one these since Dovo currentlyoffers nothing like it and it is a big time performer.

    Worthy of the SOTD!
