Lightbulb Shave of the Day (SOTD)

I'd like to recommend that a sub-forum of shaving be created called Shave of the Day (SOTD) where we can all post what was used for our shave that day. It generally is a timed thread for a one week period. Mine posted today on another site reads:

Showered with SoapDance Sandalwood Vanilla Bath Soap
    Army / Navy Straight Razor
    Shavemac SMF Special Brush
Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood Shaving Cream
Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood Aftershave Balm
    Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood EDT
    Natureade Aloe80

Maybe this would help everyone to expand their shaving horizons.

That's a great idea. I would love to see what other people are using for thier magic combo.

How about replying here for now?

W.R. Case str8 w/ lavender bone handles (first shave with it ~ average)
Taylor's lavender hard soap (regular rotation)
Vulfix super badger brush (it's the small one Ray sells @ classic shaving)
Nivea for men (white bottle) after shave balm (really good & affordable)
dab of Truefitt & Hill 1805 cologne (2 thumbs way up, but $$$)

*I like the Nivea white bottle balm (sensitive) because it has a very, very light scent and you can wear any cologne with it. Moisturizes and soothes better than some of the high dollar stuff as well. $5.99 at Walgreens :-)

Oh yeah, normal non-enthusiast shower stuff.

About that Nivea sensitive aftershave, I used it also, but then I found a site that offers nice info about safety of cosmetics products. Then, I stop using it...

I'm not so sure that I would start throwing things away yet. Remember when it was discovered that saccharin (sp?) was found to cause cancer in rats? Seems like they had to consume 20X their body weight? I would like to see that amount of consumption of the given ingredients that it actually would take to effectively cause cancer.

OKay, I didn't use a str8 today, but I did use my Merkur HD Classic with a Feather blade, Trufitt & Hill Luxury Shaving Soap applied with a Shavemac #181 brush, Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel and Caswell-Massey Lavender Cologne Water. I'm still taking it easy with the blade, so straights are reserved for the weekend when I have LOTS of time!

Well at $5.99 a bottle I don't mind tossing it. Just the fact that it is at the very top of that list of things to stay away from is enough for me. The power of suggestion...maybe. However, when there is a world of other choices I know it won't get used anyway, so.......CYA.

I took a shower with olay soap. Prep with lots of hot water, used art of shaving lavender shaving cream applied with a tweezerman badger brush. Mowed down the wiskers with my trusty dubl duck Satinedge. Followed up with a Jack Black cool moisture body lotion, and a splash of Pinaud clubman. I feel like a million bucks.
