straight razor shave number 12.
dovo special 5/8.
strop the bejeesus out of my razor.
shower and use clinique face scrub and then face wash.
hot towel on my face for 30 seconds X 2.
pre-shave oil (king of shaves) and another hot towel.
lather up with Trumper's almond shave cream(have some samples i'm working through!)
first pass with the grain.
hot towel. re-lather.
second pass across the grain as much as possible.
hot towel. re-lather.
third pass to tidy up.
lots of cold water to rinse.
finish with clinique post shave healer.*(good for nicks and cuts)
once that has absorbed, some lime skin food from Trumper's.

still learning but getting closer. still need to work on my stropping but the blade is definately sharp enough to shave with. could be sharper though.

*clinique also produce a "beard control fourmula" - it is supposed to soften growth over time to make shaves easier. anyone tried it?

my face is still getting used to the straight so i use a light moisturiser again every 3-4 hours through the day.

Hot Shower
Prep: Hot washcloth (2 @ 1 minute per), King of Shaves Oil, hot washcloth @1 minute; Trumper's Sandalwood cream whipped up with a Trumper Super Badger brush.
Shave: TI Evide Sonnant Extra 5/8. First pass w/grain. Hot washcloth, re-lather. Second pass cross grain. Hot washcloth, re-lather. Third pass against grain.
Finish: Cold washcloth, Trumper's Alum block on wet face. Pinaud Clubman aftershave.

Pretty good with the lather/balm on the third pass. Jury still out on the cutting balm.
