Going to do the Fat for a while, settle into a rhythm with it. This was a good start.Last edited by bassguy; 09-24-2009 at 12:32 AM.

Thanked: 137Thursday's shave - "New Toys"
Today I got my Harris Bros wedge from Lee that I'd been waiting for. What better way to try it out than in conjunction with one of the new soaps that arrived from BullGoose shaving on Tuesday?
Razor: Harris Bros 559 (near-as-damnit-wedge)
Brush: Semogue 2015
Soap(s): Tabac (1st pass + chin touchup), TOBS Lavender (touch-up pass on side of neck)
AS: Nivea replenishing balm
The shave - amazing! 4+ days of stubble vanished in one pass. Lee has honed this razor magnificently, it literally wiped away the whiskers without even feeling like it. I had a couple of small nicks on my chin and upper lip, and yet the razor was so sharp I only noticed the nicks when I saw the blood seeping through the lather. What I had expected to be a two- or three-pass shave (hence the two soaps) became a 1 pass and chin touchup shave.
The Tabac delivered a brilliant performance, an excellent intro to what is apparently a very polarising soap. Slick, thick lather, moisturising as all hell, simply brilliant. I had to use the TOBS for something, so used a small amount of it on the side of my neck where I have a few odd whiskers - lovely scent, great cushion - also an excellent intro. I'm now sitting at my computer faceturbating like a madman, and loving it. Thanks Lee and Phil (bullgoose), a great shave thanks to you two gents.Last edited by mosley59; 09-24-2009 at 01:54 AM.

Style: TGIF Evening shave
- hot towel to the face
- Caswell massey brush
- Caswell massey almond soap
- face lather
- no stropping (fresh from hibudgl)
- Frederick Reynolds 7/8 Wedge
- Nivea AS
Also a note: if you notice, I use the same brush and shave soap - this is deliberate to master and truly give the soap a chance and understand how to get the best lather possible from it and the brush.
