    Thursday 12/31

    A.Feist Lunawerk 5/8
    C&E BBB
    Coates Sandalwood sc
    Thayers Original WH w/ aloe
    Speick a/s
    Anherb a/s conditioner (balm)
    Driven Warm Cedarwood EDT

Two good passes with the Luna Deluxe and great lather with the Coates and I get a decent shave for New Year's Eve. I have difficulty getting a very close shave on the neck and chin area with my straights but I decided against a DE touch up for no good reason. I think I am improving on my stropping technique, however, and this razor, honed by Lynn, benefited from 100 laps on the strop and felt great. Decided to go for the Avon Derek Jeter endorsed Driven Warm Cedarwood Edt which is not unlike the Carrera 212 or the Dirty English.

May 2010 bring you all health, happiness, and wonderful shaves.

    Glen,

It looks like you are getting serious about this straight razor stuff.

last shave of '09. Resolution for the new year - rememer to take pics of the shave set up at least 1x per week

    Prep: Hot shower
    Strop: RR Filly
    Razor: Dovo Special 5/8
    Brush: EJ Best badger
    Soap: Williams
    Cream: Speik
    ASB: Bigelow Elixer Black

Still only a month in to SR shaving and the chin, adams apple area and under the nose are still giving me some problems. Touch up is still being done with a DE. The good is that I pretty much have stropping down now and am getting more confident hoding the blade to my face with each shave. Beyond that shaving is fun!!!

Happy New Year SRP!!!! See you in 2010

    - Andrew

A fine year joining and getting to know some of the great people here on SRP.

The Razor - a Griffon XX that I got from Smythe, a great buy, man he really knows how to put an edge on a razor, possibly my favorite shaver, I think that maybe CS is an unsung honemeister, 'Cedrick' You Da'Man!
The Mug - my newest fave toy, my new G5 scuttle from Georgetown Pottery, great craftsman ship and a great thanks to Lori and Co.
The Brush - my fave Edwin Jagger medium silvertip with clear acrylic handle, EJ always great products
The Cream - Penhaligon's Castile Shaving Cream, this is about as close as it comes to for me when it comes to perfect consistency of cream, nice and thick feels great, a unique and complex scent, I got the 150 ml tube on sale this past year somewhere for $16
The AS - Ogallala with Sandalwood, only wish that it was double strength, love this stuff.
Nivea Men's Sensitive Skin After Shave Balm, just great stuff

    Result - El Fantastico !

Happy Safe Blessed and Prosperous New Year to All !
