Satyrday Fun
Situation:
20 minutes to get out the door with two full days of growth
Solution:
6/8 Ironwood Wade & Butcher(thanks Bill)
strop & shower 10 min
Lush Ambrosia shaving cream
1 pass across 5 min
1 pass against 5 min
lots of cold water
Thayer's Witch Hazel w. Aloe
Trumper's sandalwood cologne
Wow, now that's a warm scent almost too sweet. Probably because I'm not used to smelling like other guys. Weird but nice The girl noticed.
What a great shave and in record time. And a great day with better friends over many pints of Guinness. Some days life is good, eh?

Thanked: 0Wow, xman! I'm impressed!! If I shaved that fast with a straight razor my face would make a plastic surgeon faint. I'd be satisfied if I could turn a 45 minute shave into a 20 minute one. But I am a beginner afterall and since I only use my straight on weekends and DE's during the week (due to time constraints) it's just going to take awhile. I'll eventually get there. I may be slow but I do get close and comfortable shaves. Yesterday I got in a hurry and burned my neck a little though. My goal is to get my straight razor shaves down to 20 minutes and then I'll use my TI all the time.

Thanked: 0My shower and shave takes typically 35 to 45 minutes. This includes shower, shampoo, and a shave with at least two passes. I come out clean and well shaved.

Thanked: 0Today was my first time with a straight.
Torrey "Celebrated"
Classic Shaving "Lavendar"
Lots of hot water
The quality of the shave was awful; I was not looking for quality.
I managed to shave myself covering about 80% of my face and I did not nick or cut myself.
Quality will come later, I'm patient. So I view today's first as an astounding success.
We'll see what the next shave brings.
