Thing's are looking up here, after the initial week of chemo therapy and two weeks in aplasia the test's are looking good. I'm coming out of aplasia and the bone marrow have started producing healty cells again. Of course this is just the first step (but the biggest) in a chain of treatments, but so far so good Tomorrow i will go home from the the hospital after 3 and a 1/2 week for a vacation beefore the first follow up treatment.

Its great to hear from you! We've all missed you terribly here at SRP and the SOTD. Pleased to hear that your treatment is proceeding successfully. Hang in there chief.

    Monday

USA Special Straight, Erasmic shavestick, vulfix 2235, alum, Aquatonic AS

    Straight shave no.8 (I think)

Probably my longest ever shave, spent the thick end of an hour practising wielding a straight! Its becoming easier but with 2 days growth to get shot my under chin area and moustache are still rough! Made a very poor lather with the Erasmic shave stick (too little soap) which won't have helped, Its the tallow version but I think I'll grate it into a bowl like I have with Palmolive.

Gradually working out what works for me and becoming accustomed to changing hands etc. On the plus side some areas of my face are very smooth and my new (old) strop improved the edge a bit.

And so the Blind Test begins...

    Mappin & Webb 6/8 #1
    No stropping
    Rooney 1/2 Finest
    Wool Fat
    Harris Pink
    Caraceni EDT

Excellent shave, as with other razors honed by Glen. Will have to wait till #2 at least, to have some point of comparison, but I think it will be hard to improve on this edge.

Took out the King Pelican #14 this Morning stropped her up with 25 laps on the nicest linen around, and 50 laps on that beautiful tanned leather of the matching strop...
The Vintage scuttle is loaded with a bit of Tahitian Amber from Prairie Creations which I lathered up with a restored vintage solid brass 22mm slivertip brush...
one WTG and one Multi-Directional pass and done.... HWR followed by the Alum block then a CWR and an invigorating Iced towel.... Splash on the Osage Rub and you have a serious wake up call....
