LinacMan Junior
Gentlemen,
For those of you who missed my late Saturday night post, please check out page 23 of last week's SOTD. LinacMan Junior is really proud of his first faux straight razor shave! When his first facial hair comes in, I'm sure we'll start seeing his real SOTD pics on SRP.

Thanked: 116First SOTD in ages:
Blade prep: 50 passes on my "finishing" antique French strop, the razor was bought this afternoon
Pre: sauna, shower, Proraso Pre/Post cream
Lather: Proraso in stacked mugs with a badger brush
Razor: "REX" Eskilstuna 42
Post: Proraso Pre/Post cream and home-made Bay Rum
Verdict: First shave with an Eskilstuna and actually first shave with a non-Sheffield in about 3 months. The shave was smooth and effortless, it went through a 3 days beard like nothing was there. The blade is narrower than the ones I normally shave with, but the shave was good enough to integrate it in my current rotation.

Sunday
Prep: Hot shower
Str8: Bassler b/8 round point stainless steel
DE: Wilkinson Sword Classic with Wilkinson Sword blade (2)
Soap: Crabtree & Evelyn 'Nomad' Soap
Brush: Vulfix 404 Boar
Post: Alum, Witch Hazel, Gillette ASB, Aquatonic AS
Straight Shave No. 14 (or so)
Things starting to fall into place a little now, while there was a good amount of clean up needed with the DE it was noticeably closer before hand. If I had not been doing a DE clean up an I could have achieved a socially acceptable shave with some additional str8 passes.
The DE razor used tonight is generally one of the cheapest available and was bought at less abut half the price it usually is, along with 5 blades. When I discount to cost of the blades the razor itself cost about the same as a 2l bottle of Coke! Its cheap, it feels cheap but still does a reasonable job.
After 2 DE clean up passes and a little blade buffing a BBS was achieved.
