    OK Hog,

Am I missing something? The pic doesn't look any different when I put on the 3D glasses.

The 3d glasses that works with this type of photo are the cheap ones made of cardboard, one lens is red and the other one blue...when I use mine, the razor box sticks out of the monitor like a sore thumb. Here is another one of my SOTD for Monday (also in 3D). lol.

    TSD Iced Subzero pre-shave
    Red Injun 101
    24mm Silvertip with snake wood handle-PC Woodcraft&Pens
    TOBS Almond SC
    Razo-Rock alum
    Osage Rub
    Ahava AS Balm

-first straight shave without having to mop up with DE! I've found that it's true, real straights (freshly honed-first shave with Red Injun) are way more forgiving than the Shavette.

Thumbs up Variation on this week's theme - Thursday

    Pre-Shave: Stephan's Smooth Shave Cream
Razor: 5/8" Respecto #77, Round Point
    Brush: 24mm Shavemac Silvertip
    Soap/Creme: TOBS Eaton College Collection
    Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel
    Post-Shave: Trumper's Sandalwood Skin Food, Trumper's Moisturizer
    Cologne: Penhaligon's Opus 1870
Result: I used virtually the same setup as my Monday shave with the exception of the Cologne (Opus 1870 today instead of Racquets). As before, a wonderfully smooth and BBS shave.

Sorry...no picture today (see picture here)

    Happy shaving guys

    SOTD Thursday July 22, 2010

Razors: 5/8 Joseph Allen & Sons NON-XLL Hollow Point
11/16 Robert Klaas Prussian Full Hollow Spike Point
    Pre-Shave: Proraso Cream
    Soap/Mug: Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Scuttle: RAB Ceramic
    Brush: Col Conk Barbershop Badger
    ASB: Nivea Replenishing
    Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman ASL

Great shave this morning with the Joseph Allen that I re-set the bevel on last night. The Robert Klaas Prussian was not so great. Got a great edge on the JA and it was the winner today, delivering a very close and smooth shave. The test shave with the Prussian just didn't cut the whiskers any better than previously. I will have to re-set a new bevel on it as well and see if that helps. As far as my honing, looks like I batting .500 right now.
The MWF provided a very slick lather with a lot of glide for the razor. I wouldn't say it had a lot of cushion though. My observations with the soaps and cream will continue. The MWF is an excellent soap and the lack of cushion didn't seem to be a problem with getting a very comfortable shave from it. MWF is still one of my favs and will definitely be in my rotation. Have a great shave and day Gentlemen!

    Default Thurday shave

First a few notes on my shave today:
It's been a few days since i was able to shave so i had almost a weeks worth of growth. But then again my razors are great so never an issue with any hair!

Also ive been having some issues with my lather lately but i noticed the other day that if i dont soak my brush i get a better lather, tried it again and amazing results again. So its safe to say my brush wont be soaking much anymore.

Also my strop had a small nick in it from before that i thought i had fixed up but noticed it the other day. So i sanded down the whole strop with 320, then 1500 grit sandpaper and rubbed it with a glass bottle for almost and hour i think lol. Great results on the strop now, it doesnt feel as oily( i think i put too much oil on it from the start) and the blade grips to the strop more now(i guess this is what is called draw?)

    On to the shave!:

Strop:3" black latigo 100 canvas, 220 leather (making up for less stropping on my last shave)
    Razor: Grelot 6/8
    Soap: C&E Nomad soap
    Brush: Omega 05
    AS: Nivea balm

Cold water through and through, 25 canvas, 60 leather and put the blade away with some ballistol.

Aura Glow as a Pre Shave Oil
    Conk's Amber

    Gabel 36 straight razor
Tony Miller Heirloom strop 30 Linen/60 Leather
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Nivea AS Balm
    Pinaud Lilac Vegetal

The Amber is my favorite Conk flavor, and i'll probably always use it from time to time. It promises to be a bit less stifling today, so I went for The Veg...
