Result: I had a nice, Zen-like shave this morning . The ~8-10 minute pre-shave perp was especially enjoyable with first applying a thick slurry of glycerin/baking soda to my beard for 3 minutes, followed by 3 minutes of Stephan's shave creme. While waiting for 3 minutes , I whipped up THE überlather using my Shavemac and a concoction which consisted of a mix between CarrieM's Bay Rum creme, Mama Bear Almond soap and glycerin. This combination provides me with some of the best yet lasting slip, moist and cushion factors I have experienced...In subsequent weeks and months, I do look forward to test different combinations of cremes and soaps to see which BEST delivers the ultimate überlather. The überlather was kept warm in a bowl that fits perfectly in my Sunbeam hot pot express filled with water. After rinsing the Stephan's shave creme from my face, I worked the warm überlather into my pre-prepped beard for a good 2 minutes...Man, what a feeling!!! The shave itself was nothing short of Fantastic!!! I stropped my Heljestrand Royal Kindal (40 linen/60 leather) and re-lathered my beard. The blade had absolutely no problem cutting through yesterday's growth. It was particularly nice to watch the blade reveal fresh skin in its wake as the edge slowly mowed its way through that thick, white, slippery cushion which covers the invisible beard below. 3 passes (WTG, XTG & ATG) and 20 minutes later, my face was feeling fresh and BBS. A warm water followed by a cold water rinse removed the remainder of the creme, revealing nothing but fresh, BBS skin.
